Mr. Little's Statement at National Press Conference|
First, please allow me a few remarks about a current
Federal Health Minister, Ujjal Dosanjh, appears bent on
threats against this Province's refusal to grant Henry Morgentaler private
profit with public money to finance killing preborn children. I have no respect
whatever for his silly remarks nor for his public comments which disrespect an
ongoing court case in this province regarding this very matter.
He should inform himself of very recent polls that reveal
clearly that up to 75% of all Canadians oppose any kind of tax-funded abortion.
He should see simple logic and common sense and realize that most people don't
want to be complicit in murderous medical acts with their own money.
Mr. Dosanjh, was an avid NDP supporter of abortion murder
and was hand picked by Mr. Martin to run in the last election. Given Mr.
Martin's immoral bent lately, it appears the adage "birds of a feather...and so
on"...is most appropriate.
How politicians in this country don't seem to believe in
their electability by embracing certain moral absolutes is astounding to me.
Ronald Regan and lately, President Bush seem to get elected as moral leaders. Mr. Dosanjh has no credibility whatever in talking about
what the Canada health act really means. Any physician worthy of the name knows that 98% of the abortions in this country are medically unnecessary. Dosanjh needs to educate himself, read Canadian opinion polls and listen to the people, rather than spout drivel and make airy threats. We can be glad that our provincial health minister has called his bluff.
36 years ago, in 1969, then Justice Minister John Turner, an
alleged Catholic, under Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, another alleged Catholic, piloted the notorious omnibus bill, which included the legalization of abortion and homosexuality, through parliament. After the abortion clause was passed on May 14, 1969, abortions skyrocketed from 542 in 1969 to 11,152 in 1970; 30,923 in 1971; and rising steadily thereafter to well over 100,000 in 2003.
Our government has used our money, money of citizens like you and I to kill, viciously and without mercy or conscience, 1,883,462 human beings in our own hospitals from 1970-2000. And Scandal of Scandals….Six of the last seven Prime Ministers of this country have claimed to be Catholic. Trudeau, Turner, Clark, Mulroney, Chretien and Martin have been a grave scandal to Catholicism.
It is even clear that they have embraced heresy, by receiving Holy Communion while promoting, sustaining and legislating abortion/murder. Under Roman Catholic Church law, support of abortion rights constitutes the "Right-to-Murder" Heresy condemned by Pope John Paul II in the Encyclical Evangelium Vitae of 1995. Automatic Excommunication is the penalty incurred for this offense.
Beginning in 1970, I have tried many ways to absolve my conscience in this awful business. I have written countless letters to Revenue Canada and to politicians of all status and parties. I have protested peacefully outside hospitals while abortions were being perpetrated; written countless letters to editors, voted solely for candidates who support human dignity and life; ran for parliament myself in 1988, on a platform rooted in respect for human life and dignity; I have established several crisis pregnancy centres in Canada and the U.S. to help pregnant mothers with an alternative to abortion; and have worked full time for almost 25 years for life, family and chastity. Yet the murders go on.
Finally I decided almost 7 years ago, no more, not with my money, no more, no way. I simply refused to file my income tax. My deepest personal sorrow is that I did not take this decision 36 years ago. To the near two million children killed by abortion since 1969 and to the countless millions of children they would have had, I beg your forgiveness. I am very, very sorry. Going to jail for a short time, even years, would have been more just and noble than trying the solutions and compromises I chose.
After 5 years of not filing, I received a written demand to file18 months ago. I wrote a 12-page letter to the Minister of National Revenue stating flatly that I will go to jail rather than give them one more cent of income tax. Last Saturday, on the 33rd anniversary of the infamous Roe vs. Wade decision of the US Supreme Court, a processor delivered a summons to my home which demanded I appear in court on Feb. 2nd to answer three counts under the criminal code for not filing my tax returns.
Today, I am announcing that after accepting legal opinion,
I will launch a legal action against the federal government seeking redress for
the unconstitutional use of citizens tax money for abortion. Under our
Constitution, every Canadian citizen enjoys freedom of religion and conscience.
I will also request a stay of the action for which I am to appear in court next
Wednesday morning. I am now in process of engaging legal representation.
My wife and I would like to appeal with all our hearts to all good men and women of our country, especially our Catholic brothers and sisters and indeed all Christians and people of Faith in God, to join us in this fight. We plead with you not to voluntarily surrender your income tax to this government, which spends 80 million dollars of our money every year to kill unborn Canadian children. Every penny you submit is tainted with the blood of innocent murdered babies. Some portion of every single penny is used for killing approximately 65,000 babies every year in Canada in our own hospitals. Imagine….that is the entire metropolitan population of this beautiful city of ours, Fredericton, New Brunswick. Gone, every year. So Canadians, join us. We beg you, for the sake of unborn Canadians, for all our sake, for God's sake.
St. Thomas Aquinas teaches: "human law has the true nature of law only insofar as it corresponds to right reason, and therefore is derived from the eternal law. Insofar as it falls short of right reason, a law is said to be a wicked law; and so, lacking the true nature of law, it is rather a kind of violence" (section 51 summa theologica).
Our government for the past 35 years has been most violently killing Canadian children in the womb, truly murdering them (despite legal niceties and hypocrisies) with your tax money and mine. Every law passed has an educative and moral impact whether for good or evil. Exterminating our own offspring is creating more than a degenerate society, we are dying out as native-born Canadians. We are creating a geriatric culture. Demographers report there will not be enough young workers (because of abortion and contraception, an anti-child culture of death rather than a culture of life) to support the elderly and their well-deserved benefits.
On Wednesday of this week the Telegraph-Journal, in a front-page story, reported seriously declining school enrollment, one official expressing surprise at how large the decline was this year and that districts may have to soon shut down schools. We have become a culture of death, anti-child, murdering our babies in the womb, anti-family, embracing contraception, lusting for pleasure without children, anti-chastity, with sex education in our own province run amok with no moral restraint and mere passing mention of abstinence, or the wonderful virtue of chastity.
Soon another alleged Catholic prime minister, Paul Martin, will undemocratically, with no real free conscience vote, try to desecrate the sanctity of marriage by legislating that human rights demand that two women or two men can embrace in abnormal carnality and call themselves 'married'. And homosexual activists shriek "homophobia" at anyone who respects their human dignity but decries their abnormal sexual habits. Yet common sense tells us that something is 'normal' when it is used for that purpose for which it is designed.
The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms ensures every Canadian is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, sex, age, or mental or physical disability.
When a woman becomes pregnant, the child within her womb should be protected by the laws within equality rights, as stipulated in the Constitution Act, 1982. Abortion on demand is not a right granted by the Charter. How is it then, that we can kill our children under the auspices of Medicare and deem the act justifiable?
An expectant mom, who wants her child, rejoices. For the expectant mother who does not want her child, the child becomes something else. This is flawed logic. The late former late president Ronald Reagan once said, "we cannot diminish the value of one category of human life-the unborn-without diminishing the value of all human life".
If abortionists were to reassemble the tiny limbs of an aborted child there would be no question that the child was human. There are those among us, especially some within the government and the medical field, who do not consider an unborn child to be human until the child takes its first breath, outside the mother's womb. If the child is not a child what then is the purpose of prenatal care? If the unborn child is not a "person", how then does it suddenly become a "person?" if the child within the mother's womb is not considered a child, how then is she considered a mother? This logic is also flawed and ridiculous.
Mr. Malcolm Muggeridge, an English writer most noted for his discovery of Blessed Mother Teresa, put it best when he said," either life is always and in all circumstances sacred, or intrinsically of no account. It is inconceivable that it should be in some cases the one, and is some the other".
Christians might say, what about Romans 13,1-8? (Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God....)
Romans 13:1 says that when anyone claiming authority or power that is not observant of the Law of God, then that one is, in fact, not a lawful power or authority. This is VERY explicit, in that it says "Let EVERY person be subject to the governing authorities." This does not mean that citizens must be subject to God's Law, and the politicians and judges may do as they wish, and still claim God's seal of approval on their right to rule and judge. Unless those in secular authority are in reality, subject to God, then those in secular authority are not legitimately ruling over us. The Charter preamble says that "Canadians believe in the Supremacy of God and the rule of law." This sets the tone, measure and means by which to discern how the following sections of the Charter are to be interpreted. And since our civil and common law is rooted solely in the Judaeo Christian heritage, then (the phrase in Romans, 13,1-8, "those that exist") had their authority instituted by God in the strict sense that obedience could not be demanded if laws instituted contradicted God's Law. In such cases Acts 5,29 ("We must obey God rather than men.") applies. The fifth Commandment is not a suggestion or an invitation. It is a demand. "Thou shalt not do murder."
I ask if this is a COMMANDMENT, then how can ANYONE cooperate with any entity that does such evil against God and man.
What of Mark 12:17? "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are God's."
Oftentimes, only the first half of this verse is quoted: "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's." This gives the impression that Jesus wants us to offer loyal support to our government, the Queen or King, the Prime Minister and Parliament, the Supreme Court, the Fatherland, the nation-state. But then comes the second half of the verse: "and to God the things that are God's." It confronts us with the challenge of figuring out what are the things of Caesar and what are the things of God.
The context gives some more specific clues: Jesus is asked whether or not the Jews should pay taxes. In response, he asks for a coin. "Whose likeness and inscription is this?" he asks, and they tell him it is Caesar's. It is then that he issues his puzzling command: "Render to Caesar . . ." The puzzle is solved, as St. Ireneaus, the second-century bishop of Lyons, pointed out, when we come to see that just as Caesar's image is on the coin, so God's image is on each human being. The coin belongs to Caesar. Each human being belongs to God.
This truth is the keystone of conscientious objection to abortion and cooperating with a "Caesar" who demands we file signed papers that everyone knows lead to paying for abortion. I am made in the image and likeness of God; I belong to God; therefore, Caesar has no right to hinder my belonging to God. Moreover, just as I am made in the image and likeness of God, so is everyone else; so who am I to take the lives of others or cooperate with those who pay for this unjust killing, this murder?
John Milton once stated, "My conscience I have from God and cannot give to Caesar." And Dorothy Day remarked, "If we gave God all that belongs to God, there would be nothing left for Caesar." Clearly, Mark 12:17 calls for anything but unquestioning service to Caesar. Instead, Christ invites us to discern the extent to which we render all that is God's to God. And it challenges us to live in God's likeness, as revealed to us by Jesus Christ through His Word and teachings discerned and interpreted by the Holy Spirit through His Church.
Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta once said to me something now well known, "The fruit of abortion is nuclear war….If a mother can kill her own child, what is left but for you and I to kill each other…..children are God's flowers, how can we have too many flowers?"
Every single penny that we give to this government becomes tainted with the innocent blood of aborted children. Because this government for the last 35 years has used a part of each penny we give them to kill children in the womb. Let us not voluntarily give them this blood money any longer.
On February 14, 1981, Pope John Paul declared, "Abortion is the murder of an innocent child, it must be condemned by society!"
My dear Blessed Mother Teresa told me and others many times, "If a mother can kill her own child, what is left but for us to kill each other."
The St. Thomas More Society of Canada and the St. Thomas More Society of America is dedicated to ending tax-funded abortion in Canada and the United States. Our long-term goal in union with others is to end legal abortion forever, as it is, as Mother Teresa told me, PURE MURDER.
I appeal to all persons of good will. Join us with your prayers, with your time, with your alms, with your action.
We must embrace sacrifice and suffering to rescue our
generation from carnality and the murder of the innocents. As St. Thomas More said,
"We cannot go to heaven in featherbeds."
